Custom Gunite Swimming Pools - Tulsa & NE Oklahoma
We Are Custom Gunite Swimming Pool Builders
Gunite and shotcrete pools are both types of concrete used in the creation of an in-ground custom swimming pool.
The primary difference between gunite versus shotcrete is that gunite dry materials are mixed together, then water is applied as it leaves the hose. Shotcrete is pre-mixed with water before spraying, more like traditional concrete.
With Gunite it takes a little more effort because you have to mix up all those dry ingredients yourself before pouring them into a hopper- then sending them down through another hose high pressure which will force out onto any desired surface!
Gunite pools are perfect for those who want to build their own backyard oasis. Gunite pools have many other advantages, such as being able to add and remove chemicals without closing off any parts of the pool - something that will be very useful when you need maintenance or service done on your equipment.
The first step is laying down vinyl liner which has thick adhesive surfaces at both ends (its surface can withstand knives). You'll then put a layer consisting mainly of sand over this bottom cloth; its job here is to provide traction so it won't slide around while mixing everything else into position next time around. Next comes another gooey concoction made up primarily from fiberglass-cement grouts pray mix plus water.

Gunite Pool Construction - Our Process
On-Site Consultation
Because gunite pools are custom designed and built, the process begins by meeting with the client on their property. We want to see the space, take measurements, and account for the unique aspects of the property we either want to alter or work with. This also allows the client to show us their vision for the space and the challenges they wish to overcome.
Utilities Mark Out
Mark-out is called in for your yard before digging begins. Any underground lines, such as gas, water, and electricity are marked out.
3D Design
Next, we take a client’s wish list and conceptualize an initial design using our 3D Process. This virtual experience helps people to visualize their backyard space and the potential it has to be a one-of-a-kind gunite pool.
Grading and Excavation
The physical process begins by grading and leveling the property. Next, the pool is painted out and formed using 6-inch strips of pegboard and half-inch steel rebar. The excavator carves the actual shape of the swimming pool directly into the earth until the desired depths are reached. Finally, a six-inch base of stone covers the entire bottom of the excavated pool shape.
Installing and Plumbing
Once the pool is dug and the stone is placed, all necessary plumbing is installed. This is a critical piece of ensuring a pool is functional and can be properly maintained over time. Every system is built in our warehouse first where we have full control of building the perfect system. We install our plumbing differently than most companies. All our lines are installed directly in the gunite shell, where it is protected, less chance for unforeseen accidents to harm the lines. Doing it this way increases flow rate because we use fewer fittings and less pipe, a more direct route from pool to filter.
Gunite Shell
After the plumbing is completed, a steel cage is constructed using half-inch rebar to reinforce the concrete shell. This will become the backbone that helps to give the gunite its desired form.
Coping, Tiling, and Rock Detailing
If the pool design contains natural rock detailing such as a waterfall or jumps rock, the boulders will be moved into the correct placement and eventually mortared. Also, a six-inch band of decorative tile is installed around the entire pool perimeter and the radius bull-nosed coping is placed above the tile for a fully finished look.
Concrete Patio
Our concrete patio is poured at 4000 psi. We secure our patio with backfilling and using a tamped crushed stone base. We then use the #3 rebar in a 2’ grid around the whole entire deck for extra strength. We do offer optional patios like pavers, stone, and stamped concrete to fit into your style or budget.
Plastering
Plaster is basically the last step of the pool construction the finished product is the interior sealed finish. Standard white plaster is the tried and true pool and spa surface finish. White plaster has been around as long as people have been building swimming pools and it remains a popular choice in spite of the myriad of choices that have come into the market in recent years. Its simple combination of white cement, white marble aggregate, and water make for an economical choice that will give you that classic swimming pool look.
Enjoy your finished pool!
Throughout all of these steps, none is more fulfilling than seeing our client's reactions to their brand new gunite swimming pool. We love receiving photos and hearing stories of all the fun memories that are built within this new space. Most importantly, we remain available to answer any questions that might arise and to assist with the opening and closing of the pool each season.
Gunite Pools - Repairs & Renovation
Your gunite inground pool is a hub of entertainment, relaxation, and activity. It’s important to maintain this beauty so that you can swim with confidence knowing your health is safe from any potential risks associated with water environments like chemicals or bacteria which could cause diseases. When it comes to cleaning your pool, don't forget about the walls and floor. Staying on top of these chores is not only important for keeping debris at bay but also helps prevent build-up which will make maintaining a new gunite pool much more difficult in future years.
Enjoy the Comfort of Your Pool
The interior gets dirty too so vacuum or automatic cleaners work best here - just make sure you clean both areas regularly (every few weeks) as neglecting this part can lead to prolonged dirtiness over time.
If you have an inground cleaning system or pool vacuum, larger pieces of debris need to be removed on a regular basis. Bugs and leaves are the most common things that get blown into your swimming area so they should not go unnoticed for long periods if left untreated. Algae can also develop when water quality isn't maintained because it feeds off organic matter like dead algae cells which contain waste products from photosynthesis. Your pool pump should run every day; however, that does not mean it has to be continuous. While how much the machine needs will depend upon heat and frequency of use (8 hours per day for balancing chemicals), at least one full cycle is enough in most cases.
The area around your swimming pool can be a dirty, unappreciated place. You should not make the mistake of forgetting about frequent cleaning and disinfecting with chemicals or chlorine bleach solution for that matter- this includes scrubbing tiles on the decking near water sources such as hot tubs.
Gunite Pool Features Built to Last
The gunite pool is an incredible invention that has been around for many years. It's important to keep up with regular cleaning in order not to transfer germs and bacteria from one area of your swimming pool, which could lead you or your family members to get sick sooner than expected.
Nothing beats the care of an experienced pool cleaner. Our experts can check your surface for any abnormalities and pipes to make sure they're in good shape before you swim again! Get that annual service appointment scheduled in Tulsa and OK ASAP, too.
Inground Swimming Pool Designs
If you want to keep your pool in good condition, then an inground concrete one is the right choice for you. You will need more attention and special care than other materials do because it’s more delicate than others; this means that water quality needs regular maintenance as well. To maintain them properly here are some ways:
The pool cleaning phase should be an annual event. The best way to keep your inground swimming pool and spas clean and safe from debris is by using a long-handled skimmer, which can pick up leaves or other objects in its path without damaging it.
The best way to make sure your pool stays clean and safe is by performing routine cleaning. The walls, floor tiles as well as other surfaces around the water body should be cleaned on a regular basis in order not only to keep them looking spic-and-span but also to prevent dirt from accumulating which could lead you to having problems with algae or bacteria growths within it.
The best way to keep your home clean is with a dusting brush! A hard-bristled one will work great for cleaning the walls and ceilings. It's also attached on an extendable pole so you can reach all those places that are difficult without bending down or climbing up high stairs as I used to when we were little kids (yes even though they're not fun anymore).
Start at ground level - make sure there isn't any dirt/glop lying around otherwise this could end up getting stuck in between fibers from its suction power- then use circular motions going around each area until it shines brightly again; remove anything left behind by quick swipes if necessary.
After brushing your pool, there will be loose debris floating around or settling at the bottom. Use a vacuum to remove these - you can manually clean it with a net and brush if necessary but an automatic vacuum would be much easier. Vacuum every week for best results!
The pH levels of your pool water are important to balance the concrete and its lifespan. It's also crucial not to let them go too low, as it can corrode the surface over time if there aren’t enough alkaline minerals like calcium in the solution that would raise pH levels naturally if you added some limestone tablets or crushed coral shells at appropriate times during summer months when chlorine demand is lower than usual due to increased evaporation rates from warmer temperatures.
Benefits Of Custom Gunite Pools
Choose a design and shape that fits your landscape
You might not think of it as much, but pools are one of the most popular additions to outdoor spaces. And when we're talking about in-ground swimming pools - there's no shortage! No matter what type you want though (natural or concrete) there is an option for everyone who loves spending their summers with this great addition and fun activity to enjoy with friends or family members alike.

Personalize your Pool
It’s tough enough making changes when something needs repairing (let alone transforming), but having a new project dumped on us is even less appealing than most things involving home improvement projects. That said there are benefits involved here too - after all, if this will serve as space outside of the houseguests might enjoy lounging about while soaking up some rays during those hot summer days.
The possibilities are endless when it comes to choosing the perfect material for your pool. Gunite plaster finishes come in an array of different colors and textures, so you can truly coordinate with other aspects like landscaping or even style points if they're important enough! You could go high-end by adding glass pebbles as well - these pools only look better from every angle because there are no two ways about how gorgeous this type really is!
