Claremore Lake Park

Developed in 1929 with the completion of the dam, for the purpose of providing water to the city of Claremore, Oklahoma, and houses recreational amenities such as boat ramps, fishing docks, and picnic areas. In 2011, the lake added a 9-hole disc golf course.

Claremore Lake Park has been a source of family-friendly outdoor relaxation for nearly a century. This city park features a splash pad and two playground areas perfect for letting the little ones in your crowd frolic. Breathe in the fresh country air while taking advantage of the park's walking trails.

When it comes to fishing, Claremore Lake Park makes getting your line in the water easy with boat ramps, docks, and two fishing docks (one enclosed with heat and air). Duck hunting is allowed with a permit for those who win a draw for the 20 duck blind slots on Claremore Lake each season. Picnic areas, outdoor grills, picnic shelters, and more are available to enhance your experience at Claremore Lake Park. Visit the website for more information on reserving a shelter or entering the duck blind draw.

Claremore Lake Park comprises 1,200 acres (4,900,000 m2) off of East Blue Starr Drive in Claremore. The park has two separate playgrounds and has picnic tables and grills available for public use. There are also two covered shelters with electrical outlets. Shelters can be rented through the Claremore Parks and Recreation Department. Camping is not allowed, and animals must be restrained at all times. Alcohol is prohibited.

The west side of the lake has a nice park, water-play area ("splash pad"), walking trail, and fishing spots. The east side is mostly a residential street without many places to stop, but there's a parking lot at the trailhead for the mountain biking trails. Those trails are also good for hiking, but even the easiest one was what I would call moderate, with relatively steep inclines and lots of roots along the path.

Claremore Lake Park is an incredible natural area for Claremore and one of the things Claremore has done well to invest in. This is often an untapped natural resource and is free for almost all activities. They have even added a splash pad and updated the playground equipment. Fishing is great! No swimming is allowed because it is Claremore's source of drinking water.
